Retroville Welcomes You!

It's been a long time, almost a year, but Hard Alley's Retroville opened January 30 with a huge party that packed the sim with 60-70 people for nearly 3 hours!  Be sure to come by and start some fun, fifties Roleplay today!  DJ Spirit will be hosting "Fifties Friday" parties every Friday night from 7-9PM SL time!  Lots of fun 50s events planned, and 50s attire is easy to find at one of the many retailers in the sim!  Join the fun!  Hope to see you there!

IT'S OPENING!

We are pleased to announce that after 9 months of planning, design, and building, Hard Alley's Retroville will officially open on Friday, Jan 30 at 7PM SL time!  We will be celebrating with a 50's party in the new Hard Alley Social Club!  Everyone is invited!

It's taken a lot of hard work by some very hard working, talented people like builders Jaimy Hancroft, Tito DeVinna, and McChris Flanagan, and support and planning by Spirit, Jade and the Hard Alley staff, but we think you are going to love it!  I know I do!

Hard Alley's Retroville!

Hard Alley is coming to an end, forever, on Nov 16.

Hard Alley, one of SL's longest running sites, and the first, original dirty urban sex roleplay sim, is over after over 8 years.  There is no future for Hard Alley.

But it DOES have a PAST!

We are pleased to announce Hard Alley's RETROVILLE, a beautiful, modern city set in the 1950s.  This is Hard Alley before it BECAME Hard Alley.  Before all the corruption and decay set in.  There will be many familiar landmarks, although they will be mesh and look 100 times better than the old prim-based buildings.  Lynden Labs now stands towering above the entire city, offering hope of a fabulous future of scientific wonders!  The Hard Alley Social Club is a classy, upscale establishment for the cream of society, and not the sleazy strip club we all know today.  Retroville College is a modern seat of academia, and not the run-down Reform School of present day Hard Alley.

There are also many new places in Retroville, giving players plenty of opportunities to explore, play, and find a place to fit in.  There's a new bank, police station, museum, casino, and much, much more!

Yes, Retroville is a gleaming example of a city full of hopes and dreams!

But we know what happens... we know what the future holds for Retroville.  Underneath all the chrome and neon, a darkness is growing.  Behind the picture perfect suburban lawns and the nicely tailored suits of the offices lies a city of greed and lust and deceit.

This is where YOU come in.

Retroville offers a fun, new, and different roleplaying opportunity.  You've roleplayed pimps and hookers and sleazy bikers at Hard Alley and other sims, but can you roleplay a suburban housewife who's secretly cheating on her husband with the Chief of Police?  Can you roleplay the busy executive who's staying late at the office for some board room fun with his secretary?  Will you be the waitress at the diner who's just trying to make ends meet by offering "special service" out back?

It's up to you to make Retroville work.  It won't matter how pretty and well built the sim is if no one is there to enjoy it.  Start thinking of your roles now!

Retroville begins construction Nov 17, and will open to the public sometime in December.  The Hard Core Strip Club WILL REMAIN OPEN during the build.

Final thoughts...

We could have just rebuilt Hard Alley in mesh and called it a day.  It would have been fast and easy to plop down a bunch of cookie-cutter buildings off marketplace and said, "here's the new sim".

But that's not who we are.  We wanted to be different, and give you something better.  Two extremely talented builders, Jaimy Hancroft of Death Row Designs, and Tito DeVinna of Rule 34, have volunteered to build it for you from scratch, and it will be about 80% all-new, original mesh.  What they've done so far is amazing.

It's new.  It's different.  It's yours.  It's called Retroville, and we hope you will enjoy it.

It Begins!

This is it! The End of Hard Alley!  Starting this weekend, I have begun deleting large parts of the Alley.  Gone is the Reform School!  And the Biker Bar!  And the Beach... the Jail... the Porn Studio... the Parking Garage... the Frat House... the Boiler Room... the Hospital... the Motel... and the rubble that used to be City Hall.

From now until Nov 17, only the central core of Hard Alley will remain.  The Strip Club will remain open, as well as plenty of areas to roleplay and enjoy, such as the Diner, the Asylum, the Back Door Club, Lynden Labs (what's left of it), and more!

The Cemetery remains until we have had our Annual Halloween Party (always the BEST party in SL)!  THIS IS WHERE WE WILL DISCLOSE THE FULL PLAN FOR THE NEW HARD ALLEY!  DO NOT MISS THIS PARTY!

After the Halloween Party comes Erotigacha 3 - Amorous Autumn, our quarterly adult gacha fair! 

After that?  It's the end of everything!  It all gets deleted!  Every last prim of the original Hard Alley!

We will close the sim off to the public, except for a temporary Strip Club up in the sky while we rebuild below.

The Strip Club will actually be very important during this rebuild period, as we will use it to adjust people to the new Hard Alley!  It should be fun if we can pull it off.  lol.

While we are all waiting for the new Hard Alley, Spirit, Jadelyn and I thought we would do some "teaser" pics.  Each of them has a meaning and a purpose.  Of course, I'm not going to tell you what that is, otherwise it wouldn't be teasing.

Good Things Come...

Yes, the new Hard Alley is being delayed.  The builders are taking great care to create a really awesome place for you to play, and that takes time.

This rebuild is not going to be easy.  We're not taking a bunch of mesh buildings off Marketplace and slapping them down and calling it a rebuild.  The new Hard Alley will be nearly 90% original mesh buildings, created specifically for Hard Alley.

Some of these new buildings are easier than others and take less time.  But the iconic buildings... the Club... Lynden Labs... City Hall... the Burlesque Hall... those are more complex and require more thought and planning and modeling and texturing.

I hope you will bear with us as we progress.  Our builders, Jaimy Hancroft of Death Row Designs and Tito DeVinna of Rule 34, are doing an incredible job and it is obvious from the work they have done that this is a labor of love for them.

I wish I could share more with you.  I wish I could show you what they have accomplished so far, because it's amazing and I can't wait to see it all finished.

I can tease you with one shot... one glimpse at the new Hard Alley.  I hope it makes you go "Wow!" like it did me when I first saw it.

The end of Hard Alley brings with it many questions... What will happen next?  How will Hard Alley recover?  Is there a future for Hard Alley?

Why Do Things Have to Change?

Big changes are coming to Hard Alley.

But why?

I've been getting that question a lot lately.  That, and things like, "Why do things have to change?  Why can't you just leave things as they are?  What's going to happen to my favorite spot?"

The basic answer is that we have to change or close, and I'd prefer not to close.

Hard Alley just celebrated its 8th Anniversary in July.  What began as something new and different and original in SL is now looking very old and common.  When we started, Hard Alley was the first and only dirty urban RP sex sim.  Now, you can't swing a dead meeroo without hitting one.

The basic answer is that Hard Alley is not exciting anymore and no one comes to play.

So I had a choice.  I could close the sim.  After all, 8 years is something to be proud of, right?  Very few places in SL have lasted that long.  I could close the sim and relax for the first time in 8 years and no longer have the stress of running a sim and trying to keep people entertained.

Or I could change the Alley and try to make it fun and interesting again and give people something they can enjoy.

Honestly... closing was looking like the best option.  After all, rebuilding the sim in all-mesh might make it look as good as some other sims, but it wouldn't change the fact that it would just be one of dozens of dirty urban sex sims.  I was very much less than enthused about that idea.

I had been thinking about ways I could change things to make it fun and different again, but it was just too much effort and would have been too difficult to make it work.

Then Jaimy Hancroft of Death Row Designs had an idea.

Her suggestion was very similar to what I had in mind, but her idea would work.  It wouldn't be as hard to do, and more importantly, she was volunteering to do all the mesh building herself!

I was excited again!  For the first time in years, I was excited about the potential that Hard Alley had to offer.  If we are able to pull this off, it will bring something new and different and fun back to Second Life and offer people a new reason to come enjoy Hard Alley again.

Of course, there are detractors.  The people who don't like change.  The ones who don't want me to change one thing or another.

I'm sorry, but things are changing.  They have to.  It's still going to be Hard Alley, but not like you know it.  Not every thing you love about Hard Alley will survive the change.

I will be brutally honest here.  The people coming around now and telling me not to change haven't come to play in Hard Alley in years.  Maybe if they HAD been here, we wouldn't have to change, but they haven't, and an empty sim doesn't pay the $295 a month in tier that the Linden's extort from me.

The people I am listening to are the ones who have been faithful and stuck with me through thick and thin.  The ones who have really shown their love for Hard Alley even in the bad times.

It will still be Hard Alley... kind of.  Just changed.

Cheating

Is she cheating?  Probably!

Do you cheat on your partner?

Cheating turns me on.  I love it when a girl cheats on her partner with me.

I don't cheat.  I don't have to.  Candace and I have a fully open relationship and we both enjoy sex with other people.  I don't have to create a secret alt to sneak around behind her back.  Candace knows my other avies and has even fucked one of them (so in a sense, she cheated on me with me).

Most couples in SL do not have an open relationship.  Most are monogamous, and that is great if that is what they both want.  It is, however, usually unrealistic to expect it to work.  Cheating is far to easy and the temptations to cheat are far too great for most couples to stay completely faithful to each other.  Typically it is the man who will eventually be caught straying, but I know lots of women that cheat, too.  Many of them, or their secret alts, have ended up in my bed.  Women are much sneakier and don't get caught as much.  Some actually desire to get caught, wishing their partner would catch them in the act for that extra adrenalline rush.  Of course, when they do get caught drama unfolds and I just want to tell them both how idiotic they were to expect faithfulness in SL to start with.  They should just make up, fuck, and deal with it.

Does her boyfriend know?

Do you wonder if your girl has ever cheated on you?  She probably has.  Maybe even with me.  IM me sometime and ask.  I might even have pics to share with you.  Hell, she's probably been fucking me for years.  Get over it.

The Mayor of Hard Alley

This month we held elections to determine who would be the first Mayor of Hard Alley.  Interest in it was much higher than I thought, with over a dozen candidates in the running, although the field dropped to 10 by election day.  We had candidates who were long time Alley residents as well as people from all over SL and some who had never been to Hard Alley.

The 2 week long campaign period was full of cheating, dirty tricks, lies, bribes, and sexual scandal.  Promises were made that will never be kept, assasination attempts on candidates were made, and a good time was had by all.  During this time, City Hall was constructed near the Reform School (good source of interns!).

Election day itself was more of the same, with bimbo cheerleaders offering blow jobs in return for votes for thier candidate, candidates bribing voters, and other candidates cheating and attempting to trick the voters into voting for them.  After 24 hours and several sim resets, the voting booth was closed and nearly 350 votes had been cast.  The winner was Takashi Alexseev of the Tea Baggers Party.

Taka was sworn in yesterday in a public ceremony.  The following is a transcript of the ceremony and Taka's innaugural address:

Takashi Alexseev is a long-time Alley resident with a history or sexual perversion and indecent behavior.

was attacked by an assassin dressed in a Spider-Man costume, and a revolt was lead in a failed coup attempt. When the dust had settled, the fearless Mayor was no where to be found. He had run away and was in hiding. It took a huge party at Hard Core to draw him back out.  Drinks were on the house and hookers were on the payroll as the night turned into one of sex and depravity.

Hard Alley: A Retrospective, Part 2

So here I was, on my third avatar, ready to escape the world of drama and settle into a nice cozy skybox. With no job or relationship, I had plenty of free time to wander SL looking for booty calls. And that is what I did for the first few weeks. I just drifted from free sex site to free sex site fucking as I went. I returned a few times to old familiar places, but big rooms full of pose balls eventually grew boring and I began to look for other avenues of excitement.

That was when I stumbled across a group called Forced Fantasy. It sounded fun, so joined it. For about a week, the group chat stayed silent, but my curiosity grew, so one day I popped into group chat and asked where the group played. That is when I found out that the group had no place to play, which explained why no one was playing.

That's when I started to think about where I would have like to have played, if the group had indeed had a place to play. A dark, secluded alleyway in a dirty, run-down city. The kind of place where no one cares if they hear a cry for help. It had to be an alley. No one ever drags their victim into a shopping mall or a shoe store. They drag them into an alley.

I booted up Photoshop and started working on textures. Starting off with Bricks and adding graffiti and torn posters and locked doors and shattered windows... In an hour, I had enough textures to line the walls of my skybox (which was small and fit onto a 512m First Land parcel). After adding concrete to the floor and stars to the ceiling (you can't have a good forced fantasy in the sunny afternoon), I set out a few of my favorite sex pose sets in strategic places.

Now the alley was all done. I set the land for public access and started to turn on its ability to be found in Search when I realised it needed a name.

This was pretty easy. I had chosen the name Hard Rust just because I liked the sound of it, but now it lent itself to my new creation... Hard Alley. Another few minutes in Photoshop to create a street sign/logo and I was all set to open it to the public!

The first thing I did was send a message to the owner of the Forced Fantasy group. I offered them my skybox alley as a free play area for the group. No strings attached.

They turned me down. I still have no idea why.

Even without the official endorsement of the Forced Fantasy group, I figured 2-3 people a week might pop in and use the place. Needless to say I was surprised when I was getting 2-3 people an hour. What was even more surprising was that 90% of my guests were women! There weren't enough men to keep them satisfied! I knew I had to do something to lure more men to the site or it was all going to go bust. Out of sheer luck, one of the women that came to the site, Cathy, offered to help me out. Cathy stayed in Hard Alley every minute she could, fucking any man that teleported in. Within a week, the site had a steady balance of men and women playing, and I was beset with my next problem...

Hard Alley was too small.

Its good to be the King

Its been almost two years since I created Hard Alley on my original 512m First Land. Over that two years, the Alley and the School Girls Gone Bad Detention Facility have given me the opportunity to make some great friends.

First, of course, is my lovely wife Ananisa, who is always by my side (... always... every minute of the day... day in, day out...) and has been instrumental in making the sites what they are today. The love I have for her extends beyond SL and having her in my life the last two years has been wonderful. Don't let her bitchy exterior fool you. She's a loving, caring person.

Then there are my SL "family" who have adopted Ana and I over time. Our three daughters, Prissy, Waterfalzz and Vanessa (and the daughter that Ana denies, Wercr), and Grandpa Veto. How the hell did we end up with this bunch? Love them all (even Veto, but strictly in a platonic sense. After all, I've seen him in a speedo and it ain't pretty).

My dancers are my extended family. Each and every one of them is special to me. Some have brought a lot of life to the Hard Core Strip Club, and have made it my favorite place to hang out. I don't mean to slight any of them, but some of the girls I have to give special mention to...

Mary Baphomet. I don't think anything I write here can do Mary justice (except maybe "For a good time, IM Mary Baphomet"). If you are lucky enough to know her, then you understand. There's only one Mary. Thank God.

Prissy Underall. One of our daughters and the dancer that has been with us the longest. She doesn't dance much anymore, but if she ever quits for good then Hard Core will be diminshed for it. My favorite little bunny.

Bree Figtree. Bree and controversy go hand in hand, but she shook the club up and gave it a lot of energy. I miss Bree. I think of her everytime a noob asks one of my dancers for sex. When they would ask her, she would reply, "Sure. Bend over and I'll get out my strap-on." LOL!

Fallon Claymore. Fallon is a powderkeg concealed in a petite kitty frame. Don't underestimate her. She loves my jokes. :)

Mina Hathaway. Mina was a club favorite and spent more time dancing than any dancer we had. She is a good friend and I miss seeing her and talking to her.

Zanara Zenovka. A true artist in every sense of the word. At times funny, at times sexy, at times bitchy, but at ALL times a Lady. She's contributed more than even she realizes to the success of the club, and I value her insight and talent almost as much as I value her friendship.

Megz Ling. Best DJ Hard Core has ever had. Megz brings an energy to Hard Core just by being there. She reminds me daily how fun this really is. Everyone loves Megz.

There are too many others to mention, but in future blogs I'll try to say a few words about the other people that have made my Second Life a better place to be.
